LegalSpeak.US ("LegalSpeak", "we", "us") provides self-help legal information technology for self-represented (pro se) litigants. We are not a law firm, we are not attorneys, and we do not provide legal advice or legal representation. Using this platform does not create an attorney-client relationship.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and be responsible for all activity under your account. One account per person.
You may use LegalSpeak only for lawful self-representation in matters where you are a party (or the parent/guardian of a party). You may not use the platform to practice law for others, to harass, stalk, defame, or intimidate anyone, to scrape or resell our outputs, or to train competing models.
All content, documents, checklists, deadlines, and AI responses are informational only. You are solely responsible for reviewing every document before signing or filing it, for confirming deadlines against the actual rules of your court, and for the consequences of any filing. Court rules vary by state, county, and judge and change frequently.
Search results are aggregated from publicly available sources and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. You must independently verify any address, phone number, or email before relying on it for service of process. You may not use search results for any purpose prohibited by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including employment, tenant, credit, or insurance screening.
Paid plans renew automatically each period until cancelled. Plan limits (cases, documents, searches, chats) are described on our pricing page and may be enforced in-product. Add-ons such as attorney review, notary, mailing, or process-server services are one-time purchases and may be fulfilled by independent third-party providers. You may cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
Unused subscription time is refundable within 7 days of the first charge on a plan. Consumable credits (defendant searches, rush drafts, attorney reviews) are non-refundable once used. If a defendant search returns no usable results, the credit is automatically returned to your balance.
You retain ownership of everything you upload or create — narratives, evidence, and documents. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to operate the service for you. We do not sell your case data and we do not use your case content to train third-party foundation models.
Our templates, prompts, workflows, software, and branding remain our property. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use generated documents in your own legal matters.
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that any document will be accepted by any court.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including missed deadlines, dismissed claims, adverse judgments, or failed service of process.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the service, your filings, or your use of defendant information.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law. You may delete your account at any time from Settings; we will delete or de-identify your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-product and you may be asked to re-accept. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict of laws. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to another forum.
